The Fairport Central School District is pleased to announce the appointments of District administrators after being confirmed by the Board of Education in April.
The Board of Education confirmed the appointment of Dominic Monacelli as the Principal for Minerva DeLand School. Monacelli has served as Acting Principal for Minerva DeLand since August 2020. Previously, he served as an Assistant Principal at Fairport High School from 2014 to 2020.
With 20 years’ experience in education, before his time in Fairport Mr. Monacelli was a social studies teacher for the Lyons Central School District, as well as in administration positions. He has also coached football for 20 years, both at Lyons and for the past several years at Fairport.
The Board of Education also confirmed the appointment of Ashley Edwards to the position of Assistant Principal at Fairport High School. Edwards moved to the Acting Assistant Principal role in September 2020 after having taught social studies for the past 12 years: nine at Fairport High School and three at Victor Senior High.
Pam Ciranni was confirmed as the District’s Director of Secondary Special Education. Ciranni was appointed Acting Director of Special Programs in August 2020 after 17 years with the District, most recently as principal of Minerva DeLand School, and 25 years of experience in education. As Director, Ciranni oversees special education programming in grades 6–12, as well as Fairport’s K-12 music program. Dennis DesRosiers was also confirmed to the position as Director of Elementary Special Education. DesRosiers oversees special education for students in preschool through grade 5.
