I graduated from UNC-Greensboro in 1992, with a degree in Elementary Educaton. I was employed by Burke County Schools that same year. I taught fifth grade for sixteen years at Hildebran Elementary School. I came to Granite Falls Elementary School in 2008 when my youngest child started school.  I felt like I needed to be in the same county as my children. My daughter is at UNC-Wilmington and my son is a senior at South Caldwell High School. This summer I am getting married and my new last name will be Rickman. I have been blessed to become part of the Granite Falls fifth grade team. Older elementary students have always held a special place in my heart, as they are unique and interesting in all that they do. I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and spending time with family and friends.
