I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Elementary Education grades K-6, a minor in Psychology, and certification in Academically Gifted Education grades K-12.  I received my National Board Certification in the area of Middle Childhood Generalist in 2003.  I began teaching AIG in Raleigh in 1996 and moved to Caldwell County in 2010. I taught AIG for 11 years, and I am now excited to be teaching a K/1combination class!  Teaching students to be creative, collaborate, communicate, and use critical thinking is my goal.  I want to instill a love for learning at an early age. While not at school I enjoy spending time with my 2 children Peyton and Will. I also enjoy searching for projects on Pinterest and love doing arts and crafts. My favorite place to be when not in the classroom is at the beach.
