Welcome to the Media Center! I am looking forward to an exciting school year and the privilege of helping students fall in love with reading.
This is my 20th year in education. I taught both first and second grades for 18 years and then moved to the media center. I graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, VA with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, I am a National Board Certified Teacher, and I also participated in and passed the Cabarrus County GLEE certificate (Gifted Local Endorsement for Educators). I am currently going back to school at UNCG to get my Masters in Literacy and Information Science. My husband, Layne, and I live in Huntersville with our two sons. As a family, we enjoy cheering on the Tarheels and cheering on our boys as they play tennis and baseball. In my free time, I volunteer for the local and state reading association boards. I am the President of the North Carolina Reading Association (NCRA) and the Past-President of GCRA (Greater Cabarrus Reading Association (GCRA).
