Welcome!   ¡Bienvenidos!

I am Mr. RIVERA (Profe Rivera)

I was born in Guatemala City.  I attended Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA, and Miami University of Ohio, Oxford, OH.   I have been teaching Spanish for over 25 years in several States as LA, NC, OH, TN, and VA.

Spanish is spoken in over 22 countries around the globe. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_language  It is second only to Chinese in the number of native speakers who use it as their first language. The ability to speak Spanish opens worldwide opportunities in studies, business, industry, government, and non-profit organizations. https://www.cia.gov/index.html

I enjoy traveling to other countries in order to learn about their cultures and traditions.  I have traveled to France and Spain and I have been going to Cuba three times in the last four years.  The experiences were fantastic every time I visited this awesome country in the Caribbean.  The Cuban culture as it is well known is rich and interesting in every angle of its people, customs, foods, music, and lovely cities.

Havana, CUBA

TIKAL, Guatemala

PARIS, France

Punta Cana, Dominican Rep

New York, US

Santa Monica, California

Antigua, Guatemala

Chichen Itza, Mexico

Cozumel, Mexico

As a teacher, I think it is a vital asset that each student will have the opportunity to become a bilingual person in their life by searching and learning the cultures of the world around us.  Please, do not hesitate to count on me for any questions that you may have in this class.
