Mrs. Shannon Bledsoe

Welcome to my webpage!  Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in New York and moved down here back in 1997 for college at UNCC and I never went back. I guess that since I have spent more than half my life in NC that makes me a southerner now! This is my 26th year of teaching. I have been at PSRES since it opened prior to that I spent 7 years at Beverly Hills Elementary and 1 year in CMS. I spent the first 15 years teaching kindergarten and looped with my class ten years ago to first grade. (Or as some say, I finally graduated kindergarten.) However, I came back to kindergarten last year and it was like coming 'home'! I am so excited about the opportunity to be in kindergarten again this year! I received my National Board Certification in 2002 and renewed my certification in 2011 and again in 2021. When I am not teaching your children, I am at home with my husband and our six children (although I now have a college graduate from UNCC who is 'adulting' on her own and a sophmore at NC State). As you can imagine, that doesn’t leave much free time, but when I do have a moment, I love reading and exercising, especially running.  I love funny jokes and laughing so if you know of any good ones, feel free to brighten my day now and then. In case you haven't figured it out already, I love monkeys and they have taken over my classroom.  Most of all, I love my family and that includes your children while they are with me!
