I am so thrilled to be teaching 2nd Grade at Odell Primary! Welcome to Odell Primary!

My name is Sandy Bravo-Boyd. I am originally from New York City and my late husband was from Syracuse/Upstate NY. Go 'CUSE!  Go ACC!  Orange is our favorite color!  My family lives in Concord.   My family has been in North Carolina for 18 years. 

My soon-to-be 18-year-old son, Jack.  Jack is a swimmer and he was a proud Odell Dragon first, then he became an HRMS Patriot and he will soon be a 12^th grader at CMHS. Go Cox Mill High School Chargers!  We are ready for another amazing and wonderful school year!  GO DRAGONS!  #OdellPrimaryPride

I will be starting my 15th year of teaching elementary education. I have been fortunate enough to have taught all subjects in Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th and 5th grades.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University and I received my Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from City University of New York at Hunter College. I also finished a K-12 certificate in School Administration from Wingate University in Matthews, NC. 

I love teaching a great class filled with wonderful, excited students.  It is an honor and privilege to be in the classroom.  I am so happy to have this opportunity to teach at WR Odell Primary. We will be embarking on a new adventure together as the children learn and grow this year in 2nd Grade! 

One goal is for your child to develop as a curious, knowledgeable, caring and resilient young person who will help create a better and more peaceful world through their actions.  I hope your child can learn more, be curious, question, think and learn about themselves, learn about their community and learn about the wonderful world around them!  I know that our 2nd Grade Dragons can do anything they set their minds too!  Together we can help them achieve their goals, help them succeed and help them to do their very best!  Let's go 2nd Graders, get ready to RISE up together!

Personal Interests: I love being with my son, my family and with my very good friends! I love to read great books, listen to music, watch sports and go to a great movie! I love to go to Zumba, Yoga and love swimming! I also love going to bookstores and visiting museums!  I also love receiving a brand new book or a great picture book for my classroom.  My family loves spending time together and we love our special time at the beach!  Being Hopeful and Grateful is important to me.
