I am ready to begin another fantastic year teaching first grade!! My classroom is ready to have students come and have fun learning.
Let's enjoy this first grade year together. I believe my classroom parents and myself are a team that work together in loving, nurturing, and educating our children. Seeing them learn and grow is so rewarding.

*Enjoying 7 grandchildren
*This will be my 30th year of teaching elementary: fifth, fourth,third, first, and kindergarten
*I have been teaching at Odell for 12 years, began as the school's intervention specialist for 2 years
*I have my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree for Integration of the Arts in Curriculum
*I absolutely love teaching children and creating a classroom experience with high expectations and hands on learning.
Homework

Reading is the most important foundation in the primary grades. I would suggest oral reading every night for at least 10 -20 minutes. This will improve their comprehension and fluency.
During virtual teaching, homework will reallyv be their independent classwork given each day through my teaching. I will be grading their work each week.

8:30- 8:45- Morning Meeting
8:45-9:05- Read Aloud/ Reading Lesson
9:05- 9:20- Science/ Social Studies Lesson
9:20-9:50- Math Lesson
9:50- 10:10- Letterland/ Writing Lessons
10:10- 12:00- Small Groups- Live
(When not meeting with teacher, student is independently working on assignments)
12:00-12:45- Lunch
12:45- 1:05- Istation or Iready computer lessons
1:05- 1:50- Encore
1:50- 2:10- Independent work
**FRIDAY: Independent assigned work for the day
