Mrs. Katie Collins

      Hello! Welcome to our class website!  My name is Katie Collins and I am going to be your first grade teacher.  This will be my fourth year teaching at Odell Primary and my eighth year teaching in a public school.  I love first grade, and all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have. 

       I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in English from East Carolina University. I have a passion for teaching and for kids. I love seeing each student grow and learn throughout the year.  I strive to make a positive impact on the lives of my students, to help them become their best selves and to grow towards becoming a good citizen and “world changer” themselves. 

       I am originally from North Carolina, as I grew up in Montgomery County, but I moved around some when my husband was in the Army.   A few years ago, I moved back to North Carolina with my family.  My husband and I have two kids and are expecting the arrival of our third in October of this year.  My son, Adrian, will be in sixth grade and my daughter, Karalynn, will be in fourth grade. We will be meeting daughter number two, Alexandria, soon. We also have a chocolate lab. His name is Chewbacca, or Chewy for short. Outside of the classroom, I love playing games, riding bikes, reading, and watching movies with my family.
