The North Carolina School of Science and Matheamtics (NCSSM) is the nation's first public residential high school focused on science, technology, engineering and math. NCSSM challenges students from across North Carolina through residential, online and summer programs. Cox Mill High School has a broad curriculum in the STEM area, but some highly advanced students are seeking a deeper, more specialized STEM experience. CMHS studens who are interested in attending NCSSM are encouaraged to work with their school counselors beginning with high school registration as a Rising 9th Grader. For well-qualified students genuinley seeking NCSSM admission, an accelerated path through CMHS math and science courses to prepare for NCSSM's advanced coursework may be possible.

What academic programs are available at NCSSM?
Posted by:RESIDENTIAL: Students live on campus for junior/senior years and graduate from NCSSM.
ONLINE: Students take online NCSSM courses during junior/senior years while remaining enrolled at their home high school.
SUMMER VENTURES: Students live on a college campus for 4-weeks during the summer of either the junior or senior year of high school.
