Mr. Gray

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year.   I am a graduate of UNC-Charlotte and beginning my 19th year of teaching in Cabarrus County.  I spent my first three years as a 5th grade teacher at Cox Mill Elementary.  I've been a Boger Beacon since the day the school first opened back in the 2007/2008 school year.  My son will be a part of our awesome second grade team.  My daughter was a Beacon, for 6 years, and is now moving onto 8th grade.

We focus on lifetime activities during our PE classes throughout all grades. Students in First through 5th grade typically receive a number grade for PE, the scale is 1 - 4 with 4 being the highest mark.  A grade of a 3 is meeting expectations for behavior and participation for their grade level.  Please help your child be prepared for PE classes by having them wear appropriate clothing.  The most important part of being prepared is wearing close-toed shoes that are appropriate for being physically active.  Students may not be able to participate 100% during PE due to the shoes they have not being a safe option.

I will have PE activities posted on my canvas page, the link is the image below.  Please understand our limitations due to not having our usual PE equipment to use.  The posted activities will give you options for fitness, dancing, and some games/activities using things laying around.  We will have to be creative and use our imaginations a lot.  If at anytime you have questions, concerns, ideas, or especially proof of you participating please send me an e-mail.
