What is Digital Citizenship?
Digital Citizenship is many things, including:
- Safe, respectful, and smart use of technology and the Internet
- Critical thinking about what you read/hear/see in the media or on the Internet
- Protecting your online identity, maintaining a healthy digital footprint, and staying safe online
- Treating others with respect and avoiding cyberbullying
- Maintaining a proper balance of online and offline activities

Bremerton School District understands that technology is no longer optional in the 21st century. In order to be prepared for college, career, and life, our students must have access to and experience with the technology tools they will need to succeed. If you are a returning Bremerton parent, then you have already witnessed the technological resources our District offers its students. For you, this site will provide ready access to policies and resources that will help you guide your child in his/her education. If you are new to Bremerton, then we hope this will inspire and excite you when you realize how many technological resources are now available to your child. We also hope that this site will be a source of guidance and comfort as you realize that the District has taken many steps to keep our children safe.
Bremerton School District is committed to maintaining an environment that promotes ethical and responsible conduct in all electronic resource activities. With this opportunity to explore resources comes responsibilities for the District, parents, and students. Bremerton School District knows and appreciates that you are a partner in your child’s education and safety. When District resources are paired with engaged parents and students who are ready to learn, we can accomplish amazing things! To that end, we have put together this site to answer questions, help you and your student to become familiar with their rights and responsibilities, ensure student safety and privacy on the Internet, and build a strong foundation for success.
