En primer grado, lo más importante es aprender a leer. Esto les ayudará en todos las asignaturas. Por esta razón la mayor parte de la tarea consistirá en la práctica de las palabras de ortografía, alta frecuencia, y lectura. Mandaré los libritos de la semana para que se queden en casa y sean guardados en la cajita de libros que harán. Las palabras de la semana se deberían practicar como lectura cada noche. Las de uso frecuente necesitan aprenderse de memoria y también se deberían saber deletrear. 

La tarea será asignada los miércoles y se regresará el próximo miércoles. Si no hay tiempo de completarla, por favor entreguen lo que han hecho. Es más importante que los niños convivan con su familia, jueguen, platiquen, LEAN y tengan experiencias familiares de que reflexionar y seguir aprendiendo.

It is most important for students to learn to read this year. For this reason, most of the homework will consist of practicing spelling words, high-frequency words and reading passages. I will send home paper books for students to practice as well. Please keep them at home in the book box that you created together for reading practice. The week’s words should be read as part of the reading practice every night. The high frequency words need to be memorized so they are known by sight and students should learn to spell them as well.

Homework will be assigned on Wednesdays and should be turned in the following Wednesday. If you do not have time to complete the activities, please turn in what you were able to finish. It is more important for children to interact with their family, converse, play, READ, and have experiences to reflect on and keep learning.
