Mrs. Maria Elena Jimenez

Greetings!

I am Mrs. Jimenez.  I began my teaching career in the year 2000.  After 18 years, I decided to work in a district closer to my home, so I began to work in the Alvord USD in 2018 as a teacher in the dual-language program.  I studied at Pomona College in Claremont and graduated with a degree in biology.  I earned a masters degree in education from Pepperdine University. 

I was born and raised in California.  My father is from Cuba and my mother is from Costa Rica.  I treasure spending time with my family.  Other things I enjoy are traveling, camping, going to the beach, going on hikes in the forest and reading.  Music is very meaningful in my life. I enjoy singing and have participated in the choir at my church since 2013.  I used to play the flute when I was a child, sang in a choir in college, and am now learning how to play the piano.

Soy la Sra. Jiménez. Comencé mi carrera de maestra en el año 2000. Después de 18 años, decidí trabajar en un distrito más cercano a mi casa, por lo que comencé a trabajar en Alvord USD en 2018 como maestra en el programa de doble inmersión. Estudié en Pomona College en Claremont y obtuve un título en biología. Obtuve una maestría en educación de la Universidad de Pepperdine.

Nací y me crié en California. Mi padre es de Cuba y mi madre es de Costa Rica.  Me encanta pasar tiempo con mi familia. Otras cosas que me gustan son viajar, acampar, ir a la playa, hacer caminatas en el bosque y leer. La música es muy significativa en mi vida. Me gusta cantar y he participado en el coro de mi iglesia desde 2013.  Tocaba la flauta cuando era niña, cantaba en un coro en la universidad, y ahora estoy aprendiendo a tocar el piano.
