Rocky Point High School teacher Mr. Richard Acritelli and Rocky Point Middle School teacher Mr. John Mauceri have each been honored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars for their efforts in sharing the importance of veterans with Rocky Point students.
They were both lauded by Rocky Point VFW Post 6249 at the May 21 Board of Education meeting. Commander Cognitore spoke of the tireless efforts of both educators in recognizing the importance of honoring America’s veterans for their bravery, sacrifice and love of our country. Mr. Acritelli and Mr. Mauceri were applauded for educating Rocky Point students in the rich history, traditions and role of veterans in creating and defending our nation.
Mr. Acritelli was honored at the state level and Mr. Mauceri was honored at the Middle School level.
