Overview of the McCarthy Project
Phase one of the Fuller Middle School Construction began in the beginning of July and this required a relocation of the parent pick-up / drop-off for both Fuller and McCarthy Schools. This change is actually long overdue for the McCarthy community. In an effort to improve the existing parent pick-up / drop-off practices and remove parent traffic in a construction entryway, McCarthy's parent pick-up / drop-off area is being moved to a new drive-through lane along the side of the building that faces Flagg Drive and Normandy Road, around the Flagg Drive Playground area. Because of this, the front-facing playground was removed and the new playground was rebuilt in the back of the school. The old playground was ready for an update so this shift came at a great time.
Fuller's drop-off / pick-up lanes are being moved closer to the Fuller Building. Prior to this they are re-routing the water drainage from the Fuller Building and they will reconfigure and pave the grass sections near the current entrances to the Fuller Building.
