The District is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, August 22, the Board of Education approved the appointment of Sarah Welsh as the Principal of Dudley Elementary School. Throughout the search and interview process, Mrs. Welsh demonstrated a deep understanding of and passion for curriculum and instruction, especially at the primary school level.
Mrs. Welsh joins the Fairport team from her position as Assistant Principal at Klem North Elementary in Webster, where she has served since 2020. During her time at Klem North, Mrs. Welsh supported a school community of more than 500 students and 80 staff, and worked closely with classroom teachers and fellow administrators. Mrs. Welsh places high value on the relationships built with her students and their families, and is dedicated to fostering a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. Before her time as an administrator, Mrs. Welsh worked in the Penfield Central School District as an elementary Special Education teacher, managing resource room, math specialist, consultant teacher and classroom teacher roles for multiple grades for over a decade.
Over the course of a lengthy interview and selection process, Mrs. Welsh emerged as the leading candidate for the Principal position at Dudley. Her commitment to ongoing professional learning and to relationship-building is commendable and will be a welcome addition to the District. Thank you to those staff members who participated on our hiring committee and to the many stakeholders that participated in the finalist forum. The feedback we received throughout the process was crucial and informed the decision-making.
