Congratulations to Fairport High School students Jeslyn H., Laura W., Caitlyn M., Declan W. and Reid C.! All five musicians were chosen for the 2022-2023 Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra, the music school’s highest-level student ensemble. 

Students from 12 counties, including Monroe, compete every year for a seat in the HYSO. In order to qualify, the musicians must participate in school ensembles. 

Declan and Reid were also selected for scholarships for the principal horn and principal oboe, respectively.

You can see our Fairport musicians perform their first concert with the HYSO on November 13 at the Hochstein Performance Hall.
