The following is an athletics update from Fritz Kilian, Fairport’s Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics regarding the Fall sports season and sectionals update!
Congratulations to the following teams that won League/Section V championships last weekend!
- Cheerleading – Class AA Section V Champions
- Diving – Sophie Meuwissen (Her score of 576.75 is a Fairport, Churchville-Chili pool record and Class A/Section V record)
- Boys Cross-Country – Team won the Monroe County Champions / John Farrell was the Individual County Champion
- Girls Soccer – Class AA Section V Champions (officially declared co-champions)
Good luck to the following teams that will be competing in Section V championships this upcoming weekend!
This week we will have the following teams competing in Team Sectionals.
- The Gymnastics Section V Championships will be held on Saturday November 6th at 11:00 am at the Henrietta Recreation Center. There will be a $5 admission.
- The Class A Girls Cross-Country Championships will be held on Saturday November 6th at 12:45 pm at Letchworth State Park. There will be a $5 admission per car.
- The Class A Boys Cross-Country Championships will be held on Saturday November 6th at 2:15 pm at Letchworth State Park. There will be a $5 admission per car.
- Girls Swimming sectionals start this week with the Class A prelims on Thursday November 4th with a warm up start of 3:45 pm. The Class A finals will be held on Saturday November 6 for a 3:00 pm start. There will be a $5 admission charge for both events. Both events will be held at the Webster Aquatic Center.
- Boys Volleyball will be competing in the Class A semifinals on Saturday November 6th vs. Penfield at Webster Schroeder HS for a 7:00 pm start. There will be a $5 admission.
A reminder that masks must be worn (covering the nose and mouth) in all indoor facilities.
