Fairport Central School District

Dear Fairport Community:

Thank you for those of you who have been engaging in the budget development process these past several months – whether participating in our ThoughtExchange, PTA meetings, attending public meetings or forums, or by contacting us to learn more information – your feedback shaped our budget development.

We are now in the final weeks of our 2021-22 School Budget process leading up to the vote, on Tuesday, May 18, at Johanna Perrin Middle School gymnasium from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voters will also elect two members to the Board of Education. There are four candidates running for two open positions.

The District will be receiving additional State and Federal support through an increase in Foundation Aid and from the Federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act. These funds will allow the District to provide the necessary programs and services during this time when the District is transitioning out of the pandemic. The proposed budget addresses the social-emotional well-being of our students and staff. It will also provide meaningful academic and extra-curricular opportunities and will prioritize smaller class sizes.

If you would like to learn more about the 2021-22 budget and BOE candidates, here are a few avenues to do so:

Stay tuned for more information next week on a ThoughtExchange on the 2021-22 school budget, and then a follow-up YouTube LIVE session to answer any questions community members may have about the 2021-22 school budget.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our schools.

Sincerely,

Brett Provenzano
Superintendent of Schools
