Fairport Central School District

Dear Fairport Families:

October is complete with many activities!

  • Next week we will celebrate Homecoming. We are looking forward to the community wide pep rally, food trucks, children’s activities, music, a bonfire and fireworks at Fairport High School on Oct. 11 beginning at 5 p.m.
  • Next week, Oct. 7-11, is School Safety Week. Throughout the week students will learn and practice emergency safety drills. We practice these drills to refine our communication processes, and help our students develop awareness on important safety procedures.
  • We anticipate welcoming Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg, a nationally-recognized and award winning author and pediatrician, on Oct. 15 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Fairport High School. He will speak about the importance of developing resilience in children. Admission is free, but space is limited. To reserve a space, click here.
  • Join us for a celebration of our new Transportation Center facility with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
  • On Oct. 22 join us at Fairport High School at 6:30 p.m. to learn more about Fairport Forward, a proposed capital improvement project plan.
  • We will also be celebrating Red Ribbon Week, Oct 21-25. With its focus on encouraging healthy life choices, Red Ribbon Week heightens everyone’s awareness on the importance of working together to eradicate drug and substance abuse.
  • We will round out this month by honoring the work of our Board of Education during School Board Recognition Week, Oct. 21-25. Please join me in recognizing our Fairport school board members for their commitment to our students and school community.

As a reminder, the Columbus Day holiday is Monday, Oct. 14 and there will be no school on Tuesday, Oct. 15 as our staff will be participating in a Superintendent’s Conference Day.

During this busy month,  I will look forward to seeing community members out and about as we experience the joy of our schools.

Sincerely,

Brett Provenzano
Superintendent of Schools
