The Fairport Central School District is continuing work on the 2015 Capital Improvement Project. A majority of work begins June 26 and is estimated to be completed by the upcoming fall.
Due to the multitude of work that is scheduled to occur, some Fairport schools will have restricted access until construction is complete, including Jefferson Avenue, Dudley, Northside, and Fairport High School.
At Jefferson Avenue, the renovations will include exterior soffit, flashing and masonry restoration work, as well as roof replacement and new playground equipment.
At Dudley and Northside, the renovations will include new and reconfigured parking lots at both schools, two playgrounds that will be upgraded and reconfigured, and ventilation system upgrades in select spaces and offices throughout both schools.
At FHS, remaining bathrooms will be offline, the main and event entrances and auditorium will be completely renovated, and the side parking lot will be reconfigured and resurfaced. This is in addition to the existing work on the roof, single point of entry and the locker rooms that have previously started this past spring.
Please note, at FHS:
- The main office staff will be located room 137. The phone numbers are the same.
- Working papers will be available in room 137.
- While drop-in visits are discouraged, as FHS is unable to guarantee building access, should you have access please park in the front bus loop and use the doors to the left of the library.
- All certification for fall athletics will take place at Minerva DeLand. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Killian and the Athletic Department staff.
Flexibility and patience will be at a premium during the next few months as the District works through the final phase of construction.
