A Message from Amy Peters, Principal
Hello Patriots Family,
It is with great enthusiasm that I write to you as the newly appointed Principal of Patriots STEM Elementary. I am grateful for this opportunity and looking forward to meeting the wonderful students and families of Patriots. I am honored to work with our staff and the community to ensure all students at Patriots are successful!
I am currently in the doctoral program for Educational Leadership at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I also earned my Masters in School Administration. Additionally, I graduated from Virginia Tech, where I received a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. I worked as an engineer for a gas pipeline in Texas for nine years, before following my passion and switching to a career in education. In 2002, I began teaching 4th grade students in Texas, and I continued to teach 5th grade in North Carolina. After 10 years in the classroom, I became an assistant principal at Weddington Hills, where I have spent the last nine years. I am excited to begin a new chapter in my journey as principal at Patriots, where I know we will do great things together.
My husband and I have two adult daughters that both attended North Carolina State University. Our oldest is an industrial engineer living in Raleigh, and our youngest is a senior studying operations and supply chain management. So we have become Wolfpack fans! We love hiking, boating, and enjoying the outdoors of our beautiful state.
I am a dedicated educator whose most important goal is to grow every student and help them succeed. As the Principal of Patriots STEM Elementary, I look forward to working with each of you as we partner in educating our students.
Go Red Hawks!
Respectfully,
Amy Peters
