Mrs. Stephanie Monroe

Welcome to my Integrating Social Emotional Learning (SEL) webpage.  I am so excited to be teaching your students about how to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.  I grew up in Charlotte, NC.  I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1994 with an English degree (Go Heels!) and I earned my K-6 teaching license from UNC-Charlotte in 1996 (Go Niners!).  I taught in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools from 1996-2000.  I was lucky enough to stay at home with my two boys until I began working at Weddington Hills Elementary in 2008.  I have worn many hats at WHES.  I have been a parent, PTO Board Member, substitute teacher, interim Media Specialist, interim third grade teacher, Character Coach, and Title I Tutor.  I loved all of these jobs!  I have a husband, David and two sons, Stephen and Noah.  Both Stephen and Noah were Weddington Hills Wildcats.  David works for the Carolina Panthers as the Historian and Alumni Affairs Manager.  Stephen graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in May with a double major in Supply Chain Management and Business Analytics and he works for General Motors in Warren, MI.  Noah is a junior at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill double majoring in Media and Journalism and History.  I am so excited to be a Weddington Hills Wildcat again this year and be able to work at the best elementary school in Cabarrus County!  My Twitter is @mrsmonroe14.  Please check out my page for what is happening in my classroom.  If you ever have any questions or need anything, just email me and I will be glad to help in any way I can.
