Mrs. Christy Bentley

 

My name is Christy Bentley and I am so excited to be a part of Hickory Ridge High School!  More importantly, I am EXCITED to be your teacher! It's going to be a great semester full of lots of learning and new adventures and I can't wait to see what the semester has in store for us.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you.

 

This is my 23rd year teaching Math and my 9th year at Hickory Ridge High School.  I am from Mount Airy, North Carolina, also known as Mayberry because of it being Andy Griffith's hometown. I attended college at UNC Charlotte for two years as an art major, concentrating on graphic design.  Through my experiences as a substitute teacher, I discovered my passion for Mathematics and Teaching, which led me to transfer to East Carolina University, where I earned my degree in teaching.  After graduating college, I taught in Raleigh and Charlotte prior to joining Hickory Ridge in January 2014.  

 

I have been married for 15 years to my wonderful husband Andy. We have two sons, Parker and Hudson, and our dog Ollie.  As a family, we enjoy trips to the mountains to ski, relaxing on the beach, and visiting Disney World.  We love watching movies, swimming, and hanging out with our family and friends.  Something new we did this summer as a family was a cruise to the Caribbean!
