Mrs. Brandi Lackey

I grew up in Kannapolis, NC and graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School in 2006.  I went on to graduate from Western Carolina University in 2010 with Bachelor's of Science Degree in Secondary Science Education- Chemistry.  While at Western Carolina, I was in the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band and Kappa Kappa Psi, a National Honorary Band Fraternity.

This is my 11th year at Hickory Ridge and my 13th year teaching in the county.  I fell in love with science in high school, so I am privileged to return to Cabarrus County to teach.  I am excited to start the year with lots of new students.  I currently reside in Kannapolis with my husband, our pit bulls (Yoda and Zayda), and will be expecting a little boy to arrive in the winter.

This year, all classes will be using Canvas.  This is where all notes, resouces, and calendars will be located.  To access Canvas, there is a link on the Hickory Ridge Homepage or go to cabarrus.instructure.com.  Students will need to login using their school active directory login followed by @cabarrus.k12.nc.us and their password is their school ID number.  Parents can make an account and observe their students by getting an observer code from the settings on the student account.  If you have any issues or questions regarding Canvas, email me and I will assist you.  All classes may be submitting hand written work using Floop. AP Chemistry will also be using AP Classroom on the College Board Website.
