Ms. Mary Clare Donahue

Hello Bobcat family and welcome to my homepage! 

My name is Mary Clare Donahue, and I am so excited about beginning my third year at RBM as a 2nd grade teacher! I am originally from Peachtree City, Georgia, but I moved to North Carolina for college and fell in love with NC! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Elon University with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics. I had multiple teaching experiences in a variety of grade levels and schools in the Burlington, NC area during college, and completed my full-time student teaching semester in a 4th grade classroom. I have also studied abroad and visited and worked in schools in Johannesburg, South Africa and Copenhagen, Denmark.

I recently moved to Charlotte, so I spend a lot of my time exploring my new surroundings, spending time outside, and finding new coffeeshops and bookstores. I'm an avid reader and have spent much of my summer diving into new books. 

As a teacher, I am passionate about creating a community of lifelong learners, including myself! I value hard work and learning from mistakes, and I hold all of my students to a high standard of respect and cooperation in our classroom. I also believe that learning should be fun when you find your passion, so I cannot wait to get to know all of my students this year and help to spark their love of learning! 

We are all embarking on this new endeavor together as we navigate this school year. I am committed to serving the RBM community by educating and inspiring our students even in a world of uncertainty. I am confident this year will be a great year for all of us, and I can't wait to see how every student grows and our community is strengthened.
