Harold E. Winkler Middle School: An Academy for International Studies

Harold E. Winkler Middle School opened in August 2011, and is named for former Superintendent Harold "Butch" Winkler, who led the district from the 1990s until 2009, and who still lives in our community. Our school is one of the most beautiful facilities in North Carolina, with our state of the art performing center, beautiful grounds and two gyms that seat approximately 1,500.
