The mission of the Cabarrus County Schools' Department for Exceptional Children is to ensure that children and youth with disabilities develop educationally, socially, emotionally, and vocationally through the provision of a free, appropriate education and related services in the least restrictive environment.

2022-2023 EC Educator of Excellence
The EC Department is happy to announce Mrs. Susan Keever has been selected as the 2022 Exceptional Children Educator of Excellence for Cabarrus County Schools. Mrs. Keever has been employed with our district for 18 years and currently teaches the EC Transition Program at Jay M. Robinson High School. She consistently supports and advocates for students following the extended content standards and has been instrumental in designing and starting the Transition Program in our district this school year. Mrs. Keever is a leader within her building and active within our community by supporting transition services and employment opportunities for students with disabilities. She will represent our district at the 71st Annual Conference of Exceptional Children held in Greensboro on November 3 and 4. Congratulations, Mrs. Keever!
