Mr. Mark Pompei
Hello and welcome to my webpage! This is where you can find important information during the year, such as homework, projects, quizzes, and up-coming tests. This will be my 10th year at Winkler Middle School teaching 6th grade science and my 17th year of teaching in Cabarrus County.
Many, many years ago, I attended Frostburg State University (located in western Maryland) where I earned a B.S. in Urban Planning (I earned my teaching degree at UNCC in 2007). After a yearlong internship with the City of Rockville's Planning Department, a job opportunity arose with US Airways as a flight attendant. I decided that I wanted to see the world, so I left the Washington D.C. area and moved to Pittsburgh, where I ended up working for US Airways for almost 20 years. It was here that I met my wife of 30 years. During my spare time, I enjoy sports (go Capitals, Nationals, Orioles, and the Washington Commanders!) and being outdoors.
