Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology-Montclair State University, New Jersey Foreign Language K-12(Spanish) NC Certification-University of North Carolina, Charlotte

Mrs. Hanna Branciforte

¡Bienvenidos a mi clase de español! This is going to be my fifth year with the Harold E. Winkler Middle School team and I am thrilled to explore with my students all the good things we will be learning this 2022-2023 school year. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, but I have been living in the United States for 34 years. I attended Montclair State University in New Jersey for my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and attended the University of North Carolina Charlotte for my Foreign Language Certification (Spanish). Before becoming a Spanish Teacher, I  worked in the Social Services/Counseling field for 16 years and I served in the military (Navy) for six years. While in the Navy, I was a Hospital Corpsman assigned to a Navy Hospital and a Navy ship. I have been in the education field for the last thirteen years, teaching Art, working as a Substitute Teacher in Elementary and Middle School, and now as a Spanish teacher for our school.  Through my military career I had the opportunity to travel to the Middle East and learn about cultural practices there. I have also visited Australia, Hawaii, Chile, and Mexico. In the summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to travel to Europe with my family, making stops in Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

I enjoy going for nature walks, reading Latin American literature, watching National Geography documentaries, and spending time with my husband and two children. I am looking forward to working with my students this year, not only in helping them the best I can in acquiring the expected proficiency skills in Spanish for each level class, but also in teaching them the cultural aspects found in the 21 Spanish-speaking countries in the world.

The classes I will be teaching are:

6th grade (Introduction to Spanish)

 7th grade (Spanish level 1-Part A)

8th grade(Spanish Level 1-Part A and Part B)
