Mr. Joel Childrey

What up Winkler Wolves! This is Mr. Joel Childrey and this will be his 13th year of teaching but his first year at Harold E. Winkler Middle. He is thrilled and counts it as a blessing to be part of the Winkler Middle Family! He can't wait to start working with his 8th grade math students. He also has a huge passion for basketball and looks forward to coaching 7th grade boys this winter. 

He was originally from Concord, Michigan, but moved down to Albemarle, North Carolina back in 2010. He and his wife (Erin) had just celebrated their 10-year anniversary. They have 3 beautiful children (Ila, Maggie, and Blake). Mr. C loves being a dad, listening to music, bass fishing and playing Warzone on XBOX. He wanted to become a teacher because it was a calling. His mom is a retired Kindergarten teacher and gets his love and care towards kids from her.
