Profile

Hello!  I am excited to be a Bobcat at Sage Creek High School 2022-23. My motto is "You Know You Love Math" and this year I hope to convince you that you do - or at least change your attitude towards mathematical thinking (which is NOT the square root of all evil). You will find interactive games and plenty of class participation in my classroom.

By the numbers: I have lived in Carlsbad for 26 years, been married for 37 years and have 3 children who have all been through the Carlsbad Unified School District. I attended Brigham Young University as an engineering major. Then, much later, I attended California State University San Marcos where I graduated and received my secondary mathematics credential. This is my 18th year teaching in the Carlsbad Unified School District. The first 3 years I taught at Carlsbad High School (where I taught algebra, geometry and algebra 2). The next 5 years were at Calavera Hills Middle School (teaching algebra and geometry). In 2013 I moved to Sage Creek High School - teaching algebra, geometry and AP Statistics. So, I have a great perspective as both a parent and a teacher of where students have been and what they need to know in order to be successful going forward.
