Mrs. Tapia

Hi everybody! My name is Mrs. Tapia. My family and I moved to Carlsbad from San Bernardino, CA during the summer of 2018. I taught in San Bernardino for 5 years. I taught my first two years in middle school before moving to high school. I LOVE teaching high school for so many reasons but my favorite thing is to watch my students walk across the stage after four years of hard work and see the pride in their eyes knowing that they did it! 

This is my 10th year in education but my 5th year as the ASB Director and my 2nd year as the AVID 11 teacher here at Sage Creek High School. Prior to joining the AVID team, I taught English 1/1H during the 2018-2019 school year and ERWC during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school year. I am so excited to be a part of the AVID team and returning to my AVID roots. I love to read and write and I hope to instill the same love in all of you. While my passion is teaching, I have to say that I love my role as ASB Director equally. I love to watch the creativity and diligence seep from the ASB members as they work to create amazingly memorable experiences for their peers. I look forward to the fun-filled, exciting year that this group of ASB rockstars have in store for you!

Outside of teaching, my life revolves around my family...my husband and our two sons. Our fourteen year old has joined Bobcat Nation and will be running cross country and hopefully wrestling and competing in Track and Field. Our eight year old  has an artistic passion. He loves to draw, color, paint and play piano. We love to take our dog, Daisy, on walks around our neighborhood and the trails.
