Ms. Williams

I grew up in the town of Danville, in the East Bay Area. I graduated from one of the local high schools there, San Ramon Valley. Growing up in the East Bay I learned to love the A's and the Raiders. I worked hard in high school and was able to earn a scholarship as a softball pitcher to the University of San Diego. Both in high school and in college I would find jobs working with children and really enjoyed it.

During my time at USD I fell in love with San Diego. I enjoyed the weather, the laid back vibe and the diversity that San Diego had to offer. While at USD I played softball, volunteered at the Door of Hope (Salvation Army), Kimbrough Elementary (SDUSD), and participated with Junior Seau's foundation (Shop with a Jock). I decided to major in Psychology and minor in Business. It took me until my senior year of college to decide on a career path.

In an effort to pursue teaching and coaching high school age students, I then enrolled in California State University of Long Beach. I started my teaching career in Long Beach Unified School district and worked at Lakewood High School and Jordan High School. While working for LBUSD I was able to teach almost every Social Science subject (Geography, Modern World History, US History, US History Honors, Intro to Psychology, & Economics) and was able to help coach softball for four years.  I was impacted by the recession and had to shift to working for a corporate tutoring company and a charter school in Los Angeles. During this transition time, I also earned my master's in Education Administraion at Concordia University in Irvine. These experiences taught me a lot, but also reminded me that my true passion was teaching in a traditional classroom environment.

In 2014 I returned to LBUSD and Lakewood High School and enjoyed being back in a traditional setting and back with colleagues and friends. In mid 2016 my sister and I decided to look at relocating to North County San Diego and in the summer of 2016 we moved to Oceanside. I am very happy at Sage Creek High School and excited to be a part of CUSD.

Currently, I am teaching AP Psychology and US History. I also am the advisor for several clubs on campus. I am a resource (foster) parent and I have taken care of two wonderful babies/toddlers in the past five years. I am a member of the NCAAWA, a nonprofit organization in North County. I have two rescue dogs as well. Volunteering and making a difference in this world are very important to me.
