Mrs. Alberts' Home Page
This will be my 20th year in the teaching profession (and my tenth year at Sage Creek). I believe this is going to be a fantastic year full of growth and insight.
Years ago, on my commute to Orange County from San Diego, I would drive by the exit for Sage Creek High School when it was in the building stages. I would think, "Someday, I'm going to teach right THERE." Positive thinking, hard work, and determination paid off, and here I am! These qualities that brought me here are also the tenets of my professionalism, and I hope to instill and model them daily in my classroom for my wonderful students.
I am a mommy to two funny, energetic little boys. The Alberts' household is a busy one, but it's a lucky one too. Becoming a mom opened my eyes to another side to my students. It's impossible for me to look at them now without imagining their lives outside of the walls of my classroom. Every day is a balance for me: attention and love for my boys with attention and love for my students. I hope everyone in my company feels that effort.
In addition to my work in the classroom and at home, I am also a consultant for the California Reading & Literature Project through the UCSD region. This project has blessed me with professional development that makes me the teacher I am today. I'm so lucky to work alongside other teachers in a quest to continually better our profession.
I look forward to meeting my students this year, and I'm so happy to call Sage Creek my home!
