"Hatching" into Spring!
With the arrival of spring, our kindergarten class has been discussing the characteristics of the changing seasons as well as identifying the signs of spring, such as leaves budding on the trees, warmer weather, and the birth of baby animals. We were also fortunate to participate in the incubation and embryology program to hatch chicks in the classroom through the University of Missouri Extension office. We monitored the incubator, turned the eggs, and anxiously waited for them to hatch while we learned about chicks and their life cycle. Needless to say, the students were very excited to greet and hold the eight chicks that hatched! Thank you to Peyton W. and her family for giving them a home at the end of the week!
