A Touch of Spring in Kindergarten
For the past few weeks, we have been discussing the characteristics of the changing seasons. With the arrival of spring, we have especially focused on identifying the signs of spring, such as leaves budding on the trees, warmer weather, and the birth of baby animals. Through the University of Missouri Extension office, we were also fortunate to participate in the incubation and embryology program to hatch chicks in the classroom. Unfortunately, only one of our 12 eggs hatched, but the students appropriately named him/her “Lucky” since it was the only chick that survived.
We also had two brave parents bring baby lambs in to share with the class. The students had a great time hugging and petting them as well as chasing them around the classroom!!
