Hi! My name is Abby Spurlin and I am honored to be the Preschool teacher at Cherokee Bend. I am so proud of our inclusive preschool program and all of the resources that we have to offer to our students. 

I grew up in Tuscaloosa and then attended Auburn University where I received my bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. I then completed my master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. I love being a part of the Cherokee Bend family. I am trained at the comprehensive level in Orton-Gillingham from The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education. When I am not working, I love to travel, exercise, and spend time with my friends and family. I absolutely love living in Birmingham and I love taking advantage of all the fun restaurants and activities that our city has to offer. GO CHIEFS!
