COMMON QUESTIONS FROM NEW FAMILIES
Currently this is the information that has been consistent in the last several school years. More updated information and resources are being prepared for our new families for the 2020-2021 school year. Please check back next week.
Most information new and old families to CBES will need can be found on the front page of the school's website. For more topics, most can be found by clicking on the "Resources" tab in the black bar of drop down menus and additional pages of menus at the top of the school's front webpage, then select "For Parents." From there you will see a list down the left side of the next page that lists several topics that are commonly asked about. Below are a few of the most common questions, many answers will link you to another page on our school or system's website.
Q: What time does school start and end?
Learning takes place between 7:50 AM and 2:50 PM.
Class starts at 7:50, so students should be in their classrooms at this time. Parents can drop off as early as 7:20 and students can walk into the gym, where staff is available to supervise until the bell rings at 7:40.
Students are tardy when not in class at 7:50. If you drop off your child after 7:50, please stop the car, come in to sign them in tardy and get them a tardy slip for admittance to class after 7:50.
Classes end and carpool begins at 2:50. Mountain Brook Schools do not have bus transportation, so parents must arrange carpool time pick ups.

https://www.mtnbrook.k12.al.us/Page/17307 Please visit the auditorium during Meet the Teacher and meet our director, Sue Sumner.
Q: Are there any extra-curricular activities or sports offered at Cherokee Bend?
Yes, we have several extra-curricular activities offered such as chess, theater, robotics, and art after school. Each activity will have its own registration and payment procedures. Please visit the auditorium during Meet the Teacher and learn about these.
The state of Alabama does not have school sponsored sports for children until 7th grade, so parents interested in registering their child for sports should seek out club and community agencies that offer youth sports programs such as Mountain Brook Athletics, YMCA, and specific clubs and gyms for some sports. If you have a specific athletic activity that you are looking for, be sure to ask around.
