Linnette Anderson -- Counselor
Linnette Anderson earned her MEd in counseling from Lipscomb University and is currently completing her PhD. in Advanced Human Behavioral Studies from Capella. She joined the Battle Creek Elementary Team in November of 2019 and began building our counseling services program. Ms. A came to us from Williamson County Schools where she was previously a classroom teacher building upon her educational career of 12 years.
Ms. Anderson's Counseling program focuses on restorative practices and redirection/reteaching of appropriate behaviors. Ms. Anderson is leading Battle Creek Elementary to become a Trauma Informed School recognized by the State of Tennessee and ASCA. Her SEL focused program is responsible for short-term goal focused individual counseling, although she is not a therapist and cannot see students on a recurring or scheduled basis. She coordinates support team meetings for academics and behavior, oversees attendance measures, conducts small and classroom lessons, provides services for students in transition or need, conducts many different leadership clubs throughout the school and serves as the contact point for Battle Creek Elementary's advisory committee. Ms. Anderson works every day to provide a safe, caring and warm environment for all students, leading them to effective life skills and leadership skills.

Sara Harwell - Librarian
Sara Harwell is excited to be the teacher librarian at Battle Creek Elementary! “Ms. Sara,” as the students call her, is a veteran educator in the state of Tennessee. Having previously taught Spanish, English, and Literature at the high school level, she moved into the elementary library setting in 2012. Her favorite part of being a librarian is helping each student learn about the world around us. She enjoys spending time reading, gardening, and painting.

Jill Moore - P.E.
Miss Jill as her students know her was born and raised in Thompson Station., TN and graduated from Page High School in Franklin, TN. She went on to play softball for Columbia State then finished her teaching degree at Middle Tennessee State University. Miss Jill is a huge Tennessee Vols, Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Predators. Her love for sports is the reason she wanted to become a PE teacher. She is a proud mom of Aden 16, and Allie 13. Jill started teaching way back in 2001 at Bethesda Elementary School. Miss Jill is very proud to be a part of BCES.

Araya Smith - Art
Ms. Araya is the Art Teacher here at Battle Creek Elementary. She recently graduated from Austin Peay State University, December of 2023, with a BA in Art Education. She grew up in Fairview, Tennessee just outside of Spring Hill. She enjoys being outside and working in her flower beds. She loves to go camping and hiking on the weekends. She spends her free time doing many of her hobbies such as, painting, pottery, refurbishing furniture, and selling art at the local Farmer’s Market.

Paula Schneeberger - STEM
She has spent 16+ years as a park biologist/naturalist and environmental educator in Florida. She has worked with sea turtles and other endangered species. Paula has developed educational programs for the general public, school groups and a summer nature/science camp. When she moved to Tennessee, she went back to school for a Master's in Education and received her teaching license to be able to continue teaching children about the sciences. Paula had been teaching STEM in the Blount County School System of TN before joining Battle Creek Elementary staff and Cub Crew.

Jane Woody - Technology
Jane Woody grew up attending Maury County Public Schools from first through twelfth grades. She earned Earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University and then her Master of Education degree from Vanderbilt University. She has taught for 27 years, all in Maury County. Ms. Woody enjoys creating hands-on, engaging activities that make learning fun for her students. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.

Kate Youmans - Music
Kate Youmans is the music teacher here at Battle Creek Elementary School. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. She is a Spring Hill native and now lives here with her husband, Logan, and their cat, Gus. When she isn't at school making music with her students, she's probably enjoying her time off by playing video games with her husband or snuggling with her cat.
