Students at Minerva DeLand School answered the call: time to LogIn and LevelUp – again! The stakes were even higher as students across the school were encouraged to increase their connectedness and their engagement with remote learning, and to earn points in a school-wide contest. Students earned points as their teachers logged and tracked levels of overall and individual engagement through Google Classroom and the IXL learning website.
School administrators and staff say students met a goal of 10% overall increase in engagement in Google classroom over the course of LevelUp. Because students met that goal, the school earned a reward of a live streamed staff and student Nerf dart competitions. Students were entered in the raffle to compete in the games through nominations for The Raider Way and through individual growth in engagement as measured by IXL.
The Nerf dart competitions took place on March 25 and 26, with 30 students and staff able to compete each day.
This is the second round of LevelUp at Minerva DeLand.
“Our first [LevelUp] campaign focused on encouraging our collective engagement with remote learning.” said Principal Dominic Monacelli. “We all have a choice to go through adversity or grow through it. LevelUp reflects our collective commitment to growing through this school year with a commitment to excellence.”
