New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo signed new executive orders this past weekend that will impact the Fairport Central School District students and community.
- On Friday, June 5, Governor Cuomo signed a new executive order authorizing in-person summer school for students with disabilities. At this time, details are not clear and the District is working to obtain clarification.
- A new executive order signed yesterday, June 7, for the annual School Budget Vote and Board Elections extends it for any received by mail to June 16. However, all hand-delivered ballots must still be submitted by 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 9. Click here to read more on the absentee ballot process.
- Finally, the Governor announced yesterday, June 7, that Districts can hold outdoor, social-distanced graduations of up to 150 people beginning June 26. Fairport’s 2020 graduating class is 480 students.
All of these new orders require more guidance from the Governor’s office and health department officials. The District will continue to provide more information as it becomes available regarding these new directives from New York State.
