On June 9 as part of the Annual School Budget Vote is the Board Elections, and voters will elect three members to the Board of Education. Members are elected for a term of three years and serve without pay. These seats are currently held by Margaret Cardona, Kevin Glover and Joyce Kostyk. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Cuomo has changed the deadline to submit letter of intent and suspended the requirement that potential Board of Education candidates file petitions with resident signatures.
All Fairport residents are welcome to submit a petition to run for one of the three open seats on the Board. Interested candidates are to submit a letter of intent by Monday, May 11 to Deputy District Clerk Taylor Buffa via email at tbuffa@fairport.org.

To run for the Board of Education, a potential candidate must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of the District for one (1) year preceding the vote, at least 18 years of age, able to read and write, may not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding year, may not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family, may not be a current employee of the school district, and may not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office.
