Nine (9) Odyssey of the Mind teams will represent Fairport at the New York State Finals Tournament on March 23 in Binghamton, N.Y. Fairport CSD hosted the Greater Rochester Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament on March 2.
The 2019 tournament was the most successful in Fairport history, with seven (7) first place wins, three (3) second place finishes and one fifth (5) place. A special award, the Ranatra Fusca Award, was given to the Johanna Perrin Middle School team in Problem 1 to honor the exceptional creativity of their performance.

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students of all ages. The program challenges teams to solve open-ended problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting clever and unusual interpretations of literary classics. Teams test their creative solutions at competitions held on the local, state, and world levels.
