I am a graduate of Appalachian State University and a proud teacher at Hibriten High. I love teaching English, and I love the English language. World Literature and American Literature are my specialties. With World Lit, I enjoy teaching The Metamorphosis, texts on the Holocaust, and some plays: Jewels of the Shrine, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Julius Caesar. 

This semester, Mr. Lodholz, senior at Appalachian State, will serve Hibriten as a student teacher in the English department. We are looking forward to working with this bright, young mind.

I believe in advocating for students and their success. I also believe in communication and effort. A student's job is to learn as much as they can in order to be ready to face the working or collegiate world. I believe in strong morals and ethics, and I expect my students to demonstrate respect and proper decorum.
