Ms. Deborah Carter

Welcome to Fifth Grade! I am so excited that you have chosen Bethel Elementary and look forward to having your son or daughter in my classroom this year. My name is Ms. Deborah Carter and this is my first year at Bethel and my 18th in education. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my three dogs, window shopping, dancing, singing, taking long drives, and watching my granddaughter play volleyball. 

I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2009 with a Masters of Education in Reading: Curriculum and Instruction. I received my Bachelors degree in Business Management in 1999 from Palm Beach Atlantic College. I believe every child is unique and deserves a caring, inspiring, and engaging atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially. So, my goal is to build a community of learners and relationships with students and parents, because this journey will take a team effort. 

Parents, I hope you will help by taking the time to talk to your child each day about what we did and learned in the classroom. You can always see our current and past lessons through our Canvas page. This is the best way to stay up to date on what we are doing in the classroom, including grades. I welcome the brilliant combination of minds and personalities we are going to have in room 810 this year and am passionate about helping students find their voices, respecting everyone's story, and inspiring and helping them recognize their potential.
