Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself.

I moved to Midland when I was eight years old, just a few years ago! I attended Bethel as a student and later came back to Bethel as a teacher in 1999. I am vested in this community and take great pride in being a Midland native. Bethel is not only a home for me, but for my family. My husband and I both attended Bethel, as did our children. So, my faith in this school is long-running!

My faith and pride in public education is also long-running. If you think about it, I’ve been in school my entire life – which is where I intend to stay! Instilling a love of learning in children as well as a belief in themselves, is my life’s mission. Children are amazing and can do anything! I consider it The Lord’s Blessing that he has allowed me this opportunity. Thank you for sharing your children with me!

It is a great honor which I have been given to join the Bethel Family.  I have been in education for 10 years serving in different capacities along the journey.  I worked in Stanly County for 4 years as a teacher in multiple grades, in which time I served as an exceptional children’s teacher.  I then went to Union County which gave me the opportunity for leadership in my school in the area of technology and instruction.  I served the students of Union County as a teacher and an Elementary Lead for our Instructional Technology Facilitators at the county level.

I am a proud graduate of an incredible education program from West Virginia State University.  Here I graduated Cum Lauda with a Bachelor’s of Science in K-6 Elementary Education with a Reading endorsement in December 2007.  After this I went on to pursue my master’s degree from the internationally recognized Jones International University.  I graduated Magna Cum Lauda with a Master’s in K-12 Leadership and Administration in November 2010.

I do feel blessed for God to allow me to be joining such a great community and school. My wife and I have no kids at the moment, however, we do help take of a little guy named Parker who starts Kindergarten this year.  Through my experiences and through my faith, I have developed a passion for the success of our students through engagement and empowerment, and hope to fulfill this passion throughout this school year.  Go Bengals!
