Hi there! I'm a life-long art enthusiast, creator of all things messy, and lover of teaching and learning (usually at the same time!) I'm a fellow North Carolinian with an Environmental Design in Architecture undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University with a passion for art and architecture. A few years after graduating I returned to school at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I earned a Master's of Elementary Education and went on to teach third and fourth grade at R Brown McAllister in Concord, NC. After being in the classroom for a few years, I started a new chapter teaching visual art at WR Odell Elementary k-5. I've been happily teaching art ever since at Odell 3-5!
When I'm not being artsy, you can find me baking, running, gardening or hiking with my husband and our two kids! We're an active bunch!
At Odell Elementary, our artists dream big, take risks, and don't mind having a little fun. I encourage our artists to embrace a challenge and accept mistakes as an artistic opportunity. Our studio is loud, vibrant and full of creative energy! I'm looking forward to getting to know our artists!
