Mrs. Shelby Swartout

Welcome to a fun-filled year in 5th grade! I graduated from TN Tech University with a degree in Elementary Education, and this will be my 12th year teaching. I spent a large portion of my career teaching 5th grade ELA and Social Studies outside of Knoxville, TN, and I taught 3rd grade in Memphis, TN. My husband, Thomas, and I moved to Charlotte with our two dogs, Cali and Logan, in January 2020. I can’t wait to read you lots of great stories, debate over which Avenger is the best (Of course, it's Captain America!), and tell you all about the crazy things our dogs do.  Most importantly, I can't wait to grow and learn with you.  I know we will have so much fun together!
